His Excellency the Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Sheikh Dr. Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, issued Decision No. (7707) dated 04/06/1441H, which included significant amendments to the Executive Regulations of the Enforcement Law.
1. The cancellation of Article (46/5), whereby the restriction is limited to financial transactions only, without suspending electronic government services.
2. Amendment of Article (83/2) to limit mandatory executive imprisonment to cases where the debt amount reaches one million Saudi Riyals or more, and only after exhausting all statutory enforcement measures.
3. Addition of Article (83/3) to regulate discretionary executive imprisonment after the lapse of six months without fulfillment of the debt.
4. Addition of Article (84/3), which stipulates that imprisonment is not permissible for a debtor who has exceeded the age of sixty, or who has minor children while his wife is deceased or imprisoned.
